Samsung Philippines Announces Replacement Mechanics for Galaxy Note 7

Heads up to Samsung Note 7 owners!

Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation (“Samsung”) has announced earlier this month its replacement mechanics for Samsung Galaxy Note 7, following a global recall from the multinational phone company after some of its units have been reported to have fire-prone batteries.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 replacement program

Samsung said in a letter addressed to the Department of Trade and Industry that the replacement begins on October 1, 2016.  The phone company offers replacement options for device owners:

  1. They may replace their current unit at the store where they originally purchased the smartphone.  They need to bring their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 unit, full box, proof of purchase, and one (1) valid ID.
  2. They may exchange their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to Galaxy S7 Edge starting September 10.  Samsung will reimburse the price difference between the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Note 7.
  3. For devices purchased through Globe or Smart, owners may communicate with their network providers to exchange their Note 7 to Galaxy S7 edge.

The Samsung Note 7 replacement program will only be until December 31, 2016 and will cover those units purchased before September 7.
