#WalangPasok: Class and work suspension in some parts of Manila on January 27, 2017

The Office of Mayor Joseph Estrada has released Executive Order No. o2 Series of 2017 declaring suspension of classes in Manila District III and work in the city government offices on Friday, January 27, 2017  to give way to preparations for the Chinese New Year (January 28).

Mayor Erap declared suspension of classes of all levels in all universities, colleges and schools in Manila District III (Binondo, Sta. Cruz and Quiapo area).

Work in the City Government – in all departments, offices and bureaus – is also suspended, except those involved in the maintenance of peace and order, traffic enforcement, disaster and risk reduction management, health and sanitation.

The class and work suspensions are recommended to ensure public order, safety and conveniences and to reduce traffic congestion during the occasion.

Chinese New Year on January 28, 2017 has previously been declared as special non-working holiday by the Malacañang.
