Is there class suspension on February 6, 2017 due to “Tigil-Pasada”?
Netizens asked after the “Tigil-Pasada” pushes through on Monday.
Transport group, Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator ng Pilipinas or STOP, called on their members to join their “Tigil-Pasada” or transport strike as form of protest to the government’s plan to phase out old jeepneys in the streets.
Last year, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has come up with a resolution to remove old jeepnes and other types of vehicles older than 15 years old from the streets, as one of the solutions to the traffic crisis in Metro Manila and other big cities.
The transport strike will affect commuters like students and office workers. However, no declaration of class suspension have been made as of posting time.
