Magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolts Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provinces

Developing Story: A strong earthquake shook Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provinces on Tuesday, April 4.

A magnitude 5.4 quake jolts Metro Manila, some parts of Cavite, Quezon, Batangas and other nearby provinces in Luzon at around 8:59 PM on Tuesday, April 4.

According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the earthquake is at Tingloy, Batangas. It is of tectonic origin. 

The following intensities were felt:

Intensity IV – Makati City, Obando, Bulacan
Intensity III – Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, Gen. trias, Dasmarinas, Cavite, Santa Ana, Manila, Lucena City, Quezon
Intensity II – Talisay, Batangas; Pasig City

Aftershocks are expected according to Phivolcs. No damages has been recorded.
