Banks announce hours and schedule for ASEAN Summit 2017 holidays


Select banks in Metro Manila have announced banking hours and schedule during the 30th ASEAN Summit which will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, April 29, 2017.

The Malacañang Palace has announced work suspension in cities Pasay, Makati, and Manila in government offices on April 27, and in both private and government sectors on April 28 in Metro Manila.

Heeding to the Palace’s declaration, some financial instutions like banks are also shortening its bank hours. Others are closing its branches in Metro Manila to give way for the preparation for the world leaders’ summit.

Banco de Oro (BDO) Unibank, Inc. announced that all of its provincial and selected Metro Manila branches will open on shortened banking hours on April 28.

BDO ATMs and Electronic Banking will continue to handle transactions and other banking services during this period.

Meanwhile, Security Bank also announced that their Metro Manila branches will be closed April 28 (Friday) in observance of the non-working holidays due to ASEAN Summit and May 1 (Monday) due to Labor Day. 

Select Security Bank branches are, however, opened on April 28:

Metrobank, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and other banks still has to release bank schedule advisory for the ASEAN Summit.
