A strong magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Batangas on Tuesday night, April 4. Several aftershocks were recorded. Damages to infrastructures including schools were also reported, prompting some local government units and schools in CALABARZON to announce class suspension on Wednesday, April 5.
Governor Ramil Hernandez has previously announced the class suspension in Laguna, provincewide, in all levels, both in private and public schools to give way to local officials and engineers to survey the school buildings for possible damages and to ensure safety of the students.

Lyceum of the Philippines University – classes and work are suspended
