The holyweek is considered as one of the longest holidays in the Philippines. In such so that all offices and mostly establishments close during this important occasion.
Financial transactions are also affected as financial instutions and banks usually close during this long holiday.
The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has announced on its official Facebook page that all of their BP and BPI Family Savings Bank branches and kiosks nationwide will be closed from April 13, Maundy Thursday to April 16, Easter Sunday. Regular bank operations will resume on April 17, Monday.
The Ayala-owned bank reminds its clients to complete their banking transactions ahead of the long weekend. To avoid penalties for those who have due payments, clients are encouraged to their bills before April 12 to ensure timely posting of payments. Payment made from April 13 to 16 will be posted on April 18, Tuesday.
Similarly, Banco de Oro (BDO) Unibank has also announced that all of their branches will remain open to serve clients’ banking transactions until Wednesday, April 12 and regular banking will also resume on April 17.
Its BDO ATM Network, however, is ready to handly clients’ transactions during this period.
Meanwhile, PS bank has also announced that all their PSBank Branches nationwide will be closed on April 13-14. Regular bank holidays apply on April 15 and 16 (Saturday and Sunday). All ATM’s are online during this period and their PSBank Mobile and PSBank Online services are also available.
Metrobank, Security Bank and others have not yet announced their Holy Week 2017 banking hours and schedule.
