A magnitude 4.1 earthquake rocks Masbate on Tuesday, May 16, at arround 10:06 in the morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reports that the recent temblor’s epicenter is located at 12.29°N, 123.74°E – 015 km S 57° E of Masbate (Masbate). It is of tectonic origin at a depth of 11km.
Intensity IV (and Instrumental Intensity of V) was felt in Masbate City.
According to the state seismologists, aftershocks and damages are not expected following the earthquake.
