Skilled workers such as carpenters and drivers are needed in New Zealand.

Almost 5,000 skilled workers are needed this year in New Zealand according to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

Skilled workers who are most in-demand in New Zealand are mostly involved in the construction industry such as carpenters, farm workers, scaffolders, and masons, among others.  Professional drivers are also needed.

Below is a list of New Zealand job orders:

  • Carpenter
  • Mason
  • Farm worker
  • Fitter tyre/tech
  • Scaffolder
  • Driver
  • Pipe fitter/worker
  • Machine operator
  • Painter
  • Laborer
  • Auto tech

How much would these skilled worker make in New Zealand? A carpenter may earn as much as 2,400 New Zealand dollars (NZD) or almost Php 90,000 monthly.  While a laborer, machine operator, mason or driver may earn as high as 3,520 NZD monthly or Php 131,000.

The high demand in skilled workers was due to the ongoing rehabilitation in New Zealand brought about the earthquake that struck the country last 2011.

Recruitment agencies prioritize those applicants with experience locally and overseas.  At least three-year work experience overseas is may be needed as proof for the expertise of applicants in modern equipment.

Interested applicants may go to POEA to inquire.  No placement fee will be collected.
