Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) reports that Germany needs some 500 Filipino nurses this year.
According to POEA administrator Bernard Olalia, Germany is looking to hire hundreds of nurses as it tries to fill up their shortage in its healthcare industry.
Filipino nurses may apply through the POEA website or through through accredited private recruitment agencies.
Olalia reminds applicants to be wary of recruitment scams. He urged those interested in working in Germany to check the POEA’s list of accredited recruitment agencies before applying.
Salary and benefits
Nurses who have passed Germany’s licensure exam will get a starting salary of 2,300 euros or around P143,165. Meanwhile, those who have yet to pass the European country’s licensure examination, will be hired as assistant nurses with a starting salary of 1,900 euros or around P118,266.
Requirements
Applicants to both positions will need to pass a German language proficiency test to become a registered nurse, Olalia said.

Almost 500 nurses are currently employed in Germany under the Triple-Win Project.
