Yesterday, the story conference for the new movie “Ulan” headlined by Nadine Lustre, the one half of JaDine love team, was held. Her real life sweetheart and other half of JaDine, James Reid, who she had worked with in all her past movies, was not included in the cast. Instead, Lustre will be teaming up with Xian Lim, AJ Muhlach and Marco Gumabao.
When asked if she is going to have “sepax” or separation anxiety from her boyfriend now that they will work separately for the first time in their respective movies (Reid stars with Sarah Geronimo in his next film), the actress said it will instead help them bloom as a love team, together and separately. Ulan will be her first project without James since Ang Diary ng Panget, the movie that started their love team.
“Hindi naman. It’s healthy to be able to work separately so we can both grow together and then, at the same time, grow separately,” said the actress.
“Para siyang bagong stepping stone para sa akin kasi nga this time, hiwalay na nga kami ni James, so dito ko talaga malalaman kung kaya ko ba na wala siya,” she added.
The “Till I Met You” star also said that the JaDines, the supporters of her team up with Reid, have expressed their full support for their individual works.
“Actually lahat ng JaDine fans, sobrang excited sila sa Ulan. Talagang ngayon palang sumusuporta na sila,” the actress guarantees. She likewise appeals to Xian and Kim Chiu fans to support the movie.
JaDines affirm their support for Nadine following the announcement of her new movie.

Excited for Ulan coz this will be the first time ever a known LT will go separate ways in their projects. To think they are their prime pa. That’s bravery personified!!🙌🏼🙌🏼

First among their peers to break away from loveteam.
Brave. Bold. Beautiful.
Substance over stardom.

This is the best opportunity to cement her legit actress status, to show that she’s not overpraised or overrated. Help others appreciate her for her craft. Walk the talk: we want meaningful solo projects? Then let’s make it a success.

Nadine, you have the ability to blend well with your acting partner. So use it really well my love. Use the power of your eyes to show more emotions. You can do this. James will support you all the way for sure.

“Ulan” is helmed by Irene Villamor, who also wrote and directed Meet Me in St. Gallen, Camp Sawi and the recent box office hit Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story. The movie centers around a woman who goes through different phases of her life and meets three men at different phases of her journey, according to Villamor. It will be produced under Viva Films.
