Manila, Philippines – Passport online appointment slots for July to September 2018 are still available, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs on Monday, June 25.
Through its recently launched new ePayment portal system, DFA’s consular offices are able to process additional passport appointments to address the need of the increasing number of applicants.
Last week, Foreign Affairs Secretary Allan Peter Cayetano said that it will open 10,000 online slots from Monday to Saturday, except holidays. Half of this number of slots (5,000) will be opened at 12 p.m., while the remaining half will be opened at 9 p.m., which will be rolled out indefinitely.
The additional 10,000 slots daily was on top of the announced 100,000 appointment slots rolled out earlier this month.
Despite these compensatory actions from the DFA, citizens still complain of unavailability of appointment slots due to the huge volume of applicants per day.
To address these complaints, DFA on Monday said that unavailability of slots through its online appointment portal does not necessarily mean they have been completely taken up. The agency advices to REFRESH the page as online appointments become available from time to time.
Further, the DFA advises applications to CLICK THE NEXT OPENING as slots for July to September 2018 are made available at 12:00 noon and 9:00 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays except holidays.
