Metro Manila, Philippines – The larger part of Metro Manila experience flooding especially in major thoroughfares on Monday as the region experiences moderate to heavy downpour. MMDA has posted through its Twitter account the list of areas flooded on June 25 2018.
The following areas are experiencing flooding as per bulletin of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA):
- E.Rodriguez Victory South Bound/North Bound: Waist deep flooding as of 6:03 PM. It is not passable to all types of vehicles.
- España Blumentritt to Maceda East Bound/West Bound: Knee deep flooding as of 5:44 PM. It is currently not passable to light vehicles.
- Quezon ave. Biak na Bato East Bound/West Bound: Waist deep flooding as of 5:44 PM. It is not passable to all types of vehicles.
The SkyWay O&M Corporation also released flood advisory in the following areas:
- Along Kawasaki Southbound: Half Gutter deep flood but it has already SUBSIDED as of 5:29 PM.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its Thunderstorm Advisory at 5:10 PM today, said that heavy to intense rains with lighting and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Bulacan and Pampanga within the next 2 hours.
Heavy to intense rains are also experienced in Metro Manila, parts of Cavite, parts of Quezon, parts of Bataan, parts of Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Zambales and Tarlac which may persist within the next 2 hours.
The state weather bureau warns of possible flash floods and landslides in some of the areas mentioned.
