UPCAT 2019 Application Requirements

Aspiring to be an Iskolar ng Bayan for SY 2019-2020? UP releases UPCAT 2019 application requirements, qualifications, and filing period.

Quezon City, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) announced that it is accepting college entrance exam application for school year (SY) 2019-2020.

According to the university website, the submission of applications for the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) to the Office of Admissions is from July 16 to August 10, 2018.

Deadlines for filing of applications in respective regions are as follows:

  • Metro Manila Private Schools – July 27, 2018
  • Metro Manila Public Schools – August 3, 2018
  • Regional Private and Public Schools – August 10, 2018

Late applications received after the August 10 deadline may be accepted if test permits are still available.

UPCAT 2019 Details

Qualifications

Interested applicants may apply to UPCAT 2019 if they meet the following criteria:

  • a high school graduate from 2018 or earlier, OR
  • a senior high school student expecting to graduate before July 2019, AND
  • have final grades for three (3) high school years preceding the year of graduation; AND
  • have not taken any college courses before SY 2019-2020 and have not taken the UPCAT before.
Exam Coverage

The UPCAT consists of four subsets:

  1. Language Proficiency (English and Filipino)
  2. Reading Comprehension (English and Filipino)
  3. Science
  4. Mathematics
Application Requirements
  1. Senior high school student expecting to graduate before SY 2019-2020 from a DepEd-accredited high school or an accredited secondary school abroad; OR
  2. Graduate of a DepEd- accredited high school or accredited secondary school abroad; AND
  3. With final grades for three (3) high school years preceding the year of graduation;
  4. Must not have taken any college subject/s prior to taking the UPCAT; AND
  5. Must not have taken the UPCAT before.
