Manila, Philippines – You may have encountered some friends flooding your timeline of the supposed Philippine Airlines’ 25th anniversary promo ticket where you can avail of “2 tickets for only $1” by answering a survey.
The country’s flag carrier has issued an advisory via its official Facebook account that said promo is fake.
“We are again warning the public on a fake advertisement/promo currently circulating on social media (with url: philippineairlines.com-cheapflights.today) luring netizens to answer a survey to be able to avail of the ‘2 tickets to everyone for only $1’ citing ‘to celebrate PAL’s Anniversary’,” said the airline in a statement via Facebook.
PAL urged the public to observe vigilance in signing up to bogus ads because it may pose online security risks.
“The public must not fall prey to bogus ads such as these. False advertising will not be tolerated.”
“We have reported the material to the proper authorities for appropriate action,” the airline added.
“Netizens are advised not to respond to the material; such action may compromise users’ profiles.”
PAL advises netizens to check their official website and social media accounts for their seat promos.
“Please note that official advertisements are released through the PAL website www.philippineairlines.com and through PAL’s official FB account @flyPAL.”
