Manila, Philippines – Filipinos will enjoy two long weekends this August.
August 21st (Tuesday) is Ninoy Aquino Day, a special non-working holiday to commemorate the assassination of former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr.
August 27th (Monday) is National Heroes’ Day, a regular holiday.
August 22nd, which falls on Wednesday is another regular holiday in celebration of Eidul (Eid’l) Adha or “Feast of Sacrifice.”
Eid’l Adha is one of the two Muslim celebrations that is declared as regular holiday throughout the Philippines under Presidential Decree (PD) No. 291.
President Rodrigo Duterte is yet to issue a proclamation for Eid’l Adha 2018. The Department of Education (DepEd) has already declared August 22 as regular holiday base on their School Calendar of Activities.
