Quezon City, Philippines – (UPDATED) Is the August 12, 2018 CSE-PPT exam postponed?
Examinees for the August 2018 Civil Service Exam – Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on Sunday have been inquiring if the exam for Metro Manila takers will push through due to the heavy rains.
According to the Civil Service Commission Public Assistance and Information Director Luisa Agamata, the CSE-PPT will go on as scheduled.
In an official announcement through the CSC Facebook page posted as on 7:58 PM on Saturday, it said that the August 12 Paper-andPen Test will push through in all venues as scheduled, except in Marikina City. The CSC will issue an advisory for examinees affected by the cancellation in the area.
Examinees taking the exam in areas experiencing inclement weather are advised to take proper precautions for protection in rainy conditions.
Examinees who will not be able to take the exam tomorrow will forfeit their slot and examination fee. They may opt to take the exam again and apply for the next available schedule.
As per latest Heavy Rainfall Warning from PAGASA, Metro Manila and Rizal have been placed under Red Rainfall Warning because of the continuous rainfall of more than 65 mm in the past 3 hours and is most likely to continue in the next 3 hours. Severe flooding has been observed in low-lying areas.
Marikina River has been placed under third alarm because the water level has already reached 20.2 meters as of 8:34 PM. Force evacuation has been employed by the local government. Residents around the perimeter of the Marikina River are evacuated from their homes to designated temporary shelters or evacuation centers.
The continuous heavy downpour was brought about by Hanging Habagat or southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Depression Karding (already out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR).
