Manila, Philippines – The country, especially in greater Luzon has experienced devastation due to several weather disturbances in the past months.  Typhoons, other weather disturbances and Hanging Habagat have brought flash floods with damage in properties and agriculture.  Areas severely affected were placed under states of calamity.

The government, especially through its insurance systems, devised ways to help badly affected families by providing calamity loans via the Government Service Insurance System or GSIS (for employees in the Government) and Social Security System or SSS (for private employees).

GSIS members working or residing as well as old-age pensioners in the following areas, declared under a state of calamity may avail of the emergency loan during the period listed

Granting Period: August 10 to September 9, 2018

Due to devastation of Tropical Storms “Henry,” “Inday,” and “Josie.”

  1. Province of Cavite – due to the 

Granting Period: August 10 to September 9, 2018

Due to tropical storm “Josie”

  1. Province of Occidental Mindoro
  2. City of Marikina

Granting Period: August 9 to September 8, 2018

Due to aftermath of TS “Inday,” “Josie,” and Hanging Habagat
