Manila, Philippines – Plan your vacation ahead! The 2019 Philippine Regular and Special Non-Working Holidays list has been revealed!
President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, August 15, signed Proclamation No. 555 declaring the regular and special non-working holidays for 2019.
Below are the list of holidays that shall be observed next year:
Regular Holidays
- New Year’s Day – January 1 (Tuesday)
- Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Tuesday)
- Maundy Thursday – April 18 (Thursday)
- Good Friday – April 19 (Friday)
- Labor Day – May 1 (Wednesday)
- Independence Day – June 12 (Wednesday)
- National Heroes Day – August 26 (Last Monday of August)
- Bonifacio Day – November 30 (Saturday)
- Christmas Day – December 25 (Wednesday)
- Rizal Day – December 30 (Monday)
Special Non-working Holidays
- Chinese New Year – February 5 (Tuesday)
- EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary – February 25 (Monday)
- Black Saturday – April 20 (Saturday)
- Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Wednesday)
- All Saints Day – November 1 (Friday)
- Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – December 8 (Sunday)
- Last Day of the Year – December 31 (Tuesday)
Additional Non-working Holidays
- All Souls Day – November 2 ( Saturday)
- Christmas Eve – December 24 (Tuesday)
The list, however, does not include the dates of the Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha, which will be determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar. Islamic calendar dates varies yearly because it is lunar-based. Dates are usually moved 10 to 12 days earlier annually. Therefore, the Eid’l Fitr 2019 is tentatively on June 4 (Tuesday) or June 5 (Wednesday). For Eid’l Adha 2019, its Gregorian calendar date is maybe within August 11 (Sunday) or 12 (Monday).
