Manila, Philippines – Airport operations are still far from normal in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Airlines had to cancel select flights due to ramp congestion.
A Xiamen Air aircraft skidded off the runway of NAIA on Thursday night causing temporary closure of the airport, thus, disruptions of operations. Hundreds of flights were cancelled and thousands of passengers were affected.
Locally-operating airlines like Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and Air Asia have to cancel flights on August 20 to decongest runway:

- 5J 451/452 Manila-Iloilo-Manila
- 5J 321/322 Manila-Legazpi-Manila
- Z20763 Manila – Cebu
- Z20764 Cebu – Manila
- Z20424 Manila – Puerto Princesa
- Z20425 Puerto – Manila
- Z20309 Manila – Iloilo
- Z20310 Iloilo – Manila
- Z2 225 Manila – Caticlan
- Z2 226 Caticlan – Manila
- Z2 761 Manila – Cebu

Airlines advise affected passengers to rebook online to avoid long queue at the airport counters or ticketing offices.
Cebu Pacific said that passengers booked on the above affected flights may be re-accommodated on the next available flights tomorrow.
Meanwhile, affected passengers of other cancelled flights may avail of the following options, without penalties:
- Rebook flights for travel within 30 days from original date of departure;
- Convert into a Travel Fund or Credits for future booking.
- Get a full refund.
