Manila, Philippines – Class suspensions on Thursday, August 22, are announced in some parts of Luzon due to bad weather. Other local government units had to cancel classes for today due to lingering floods for more than one week.
The following local government units have announced class suspensions on August 22:
For All Levels
Province of Abra – Governor Joy Bernos announced class suspensions for all levels in the whole province.
Itogon, Benguet – Classes are suspended in all levels as per Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Cordillera Administrative Region (PIA-CAR).
Masantol, Pampanga – There will be no classes in the whole municipality due to lingering floods brought about by the aftermath of previous tropical storms enhancing the Habagat and the brewing low pressure area (LPA).
San Simon, Pampanga – Classes in all levels are cancelled in the following barangays:
- San Agustin
- San Isidro
- San Pablo
- Sta. Cruz
Pre school to High School
Select local government units in Benguet also announced class suspension from pre-school to high school level, in both public and private:
- Kibungan, Benguet
- Bokod, Benguet
- Barangay Poblacion, Buguias, Benguet
Pre-school to Elementary
La Trinidad, Benguet – Mayor Romeo Salda announced class suspension for pre-school to elementary levels only, in both public and private.
Other areas in Benguet also announced class suspensions for pre-school to elementary:
- Kapangan, Benguet
- Tublay, Benguet
- Barangay Bangao and Sebang in Buguias, Benguet
Meanwhile, Baculongan Sur, Buguias, Benguet has suspended classes in pre-school level only.
Apalit, Pampanga – Classes remain suspended in the following schools due to non-subsiding flood water:
- Fausto Gonzales Sioco Memorial Elementary School
- Paligui Elementary School
- Sampaga Elementary School
- Sampaga High School
San Luis, Pampanga – The municipal government of San Luis announced class suspensions in the following schools:
- San Luis Elementary School
- Sto. Rosario Elementary School
