Manila, Philippines – Select local government units in Luzon have announced class suspensions on Thursday, September 13, 2018 as safety precaution for the possible onslaught of Typhoon Mangkhut or Ompong.

  • Isabela – afternoon classes for all levels, public and private (until September 14)
  • Albay – pre-school to high school, private and public
  • Sorsogon – all levels, both public and private
  • Aurora – afternoon classes all levels, public and private
  • Zambales (except Olongapo City) – all levels, public and private
  • Pampanga – all levels, public and private
  • Nueva Ecija – all levels, public and private

Work suspensions

Some LGUs also announced work suspensions for tomorrow:

  • Ilocos Sur – No work in all government offices.
  • Ilocos Norte – No work in both private and public sectors until September 14.
  • Abra – No work in both public and private sectors until September 14.
  • Isabela – afternoon work for public offices until September 14. Work in both public and private sectors are suspended on September 14.
  • San Fernando, La Union – no work in both public and private sectors on September 14-15.
  • Aurora – afternoon work in private and government offices
  • Catanduanes – pre-school to high school, public and private

Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declares September 13, 2018, Thursday, as a special (non-working) day in the Cordillera Administrative Region which marks the commemoration of the 1986 “Sipat” Peace Talks thru Proclamation No. 575.
