The Malacañang Palace declares February 6, 2019, Wednesday, as special non-working day in some parts of Mindanao.
Malacañang releases Proclamation No. 656 declaring February 6, 2019 as special non-working day in the province of Lanao del Norte, except Iligan City. Said proclamation also declares special holiday for municipalities of Aleosan, Carmen, Kabacan, Midsayap, Pikit, Pigcawayan and Tulunan in Cotabato province.
Proclamation No. 656 was announced to give residents to vote for the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite.
Last January 21, 2019, residents of Lanao del Sur, other parts of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), Cotabato City, and parts of Basilan have voted for the ratification of BOL, which resulted to predominant “YES” votes.
On February 6, residents of Lanao del Norte will vote for the inclusion of its six municipalities, namely Munai, Tagoloan, Tangkal, Balo-i, Pantar and Nunungan to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindano (BARMM). Apart from these areas, municipalities of Aleosan, Carmen, Kabacan, Midsayap, Pikit, Pigcawayan and Tulunan in Cotabato province will also vote for their inclusion.
