ILIGAN CITY – Here’s some good news for all our Muslim brothers and sisters who want to perform Hajj or pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia!
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has made Hajj more affordable.
According to a post from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Western Mindanao Office, the Hajj, or the Muslims’ Pilgrimage to Mecca is now made more affordable for Filipinos, through initiatives of President Rodrigo Duterte.
With a new airline plying the Philippine-Mecca route, airfare costs reduced. A pilgrim will enjoy savings of Php11,664 up to more than Php 30,000. In the past, Hajj costs about Php 300,000 per person.
Further, Filipino Muslim pilgrims will not anymore be billeted in substandard accommodations, but only in either 4-star or 5-star hotels, which was a frequent problem in the past.
Moreover, unauthorized and corrupt add-on fees have now all been removed.
